1. MOVE.
The Brigade will move to HAVRE in accordance with Q.M.G. letter
673/9 Q.A. dated 28-2-19, for Demobilization, entraining at AUBIN
ST. VAAST Railway Station at 07.30 hours morning of the 4th inst.
2.
DEPARTURE FROM CAMP.
In order to facilitate the entraining, the Brigade will move to
a Camp (2nd Cdn. Divl. , Wing) close to Aubin St. Vaast Railway
Station, on the afternoon of the 3rd inst.
For
this purpose, two (2) three Ton Lorries, one (1) Charabanc, one
(1) Garfold and one (1) Napier Car will be lined up at the foot
of the hill at 13.00 hours 3rd inst., into which will be loaded
the men’s packs, blankets, and all material not actually required
for the evening meal, or Tea in the Officer’s Mess, or Routine
Work in the Orderly Room.
3.
DISTRIBUTION OF TRANSPORT.
The two (2) 3-Ton Lorries will carry men’s blankets and packs,
and cooking utensils. In the Charabanc, Officers’ kits, and
the Garford, Officers’ Mess material and kits. Napier Car,
Orderly Room and kits of O.C. and Adjutant.
4.
MARCH OFF.
The Brigade will parade at 15.00 hours in full marching order, less
packs and blankets, for a march to AUBIN ST. VAAST, arriving there
in time for evening meal, which will have been prepared by the Advance
Party sent with the Lorries, for which purpose the cooks will go
with their cooking material in the Lorries. Orders for any further
Advance Party will be given later.
5.
ARMOURED CARS.
All M.T. personnel, with the exception of the drivers of lorries
and cars mentioned in Para.3 and the Ford Car now in camp, will
parade at 10.00 hours ready to join the C.A.S.C., M.T. Pool, BEAURAINVILLE.
Their kits and blankets, etc., will be loaded in the Armoured Cars,
which cars will accompany them and be turned in. This party will
be in charge of Lieut. A. R. Kendall, who will return to Camp as
soon as the cars have been turned in and a receipt obtained, Ford
Car will be sent to bring him back.
6.
DISPOSAL OF CARS AND LORRIES.
Cars staying with the Brigade until it has entrained will be disposed
of as follows:-
One (1) 3-Ton Lorry, one (1) Napier Car and one (1) Ford Car will
report to G.O.O., Canadian Corps Narrative Section, after the Brigade
has entrained.
The remainder of the cars will be returned to C.A.S.C.M.T., Pool,
after entrainment of the Brigade.
Orders for this disposal of cars and lorries will be given by Major
Trench after the Brigade has entrained, and no car is to leave the
Camp or Railway Station after entrainment without written instructions
from Major Trench.
7.
HORSE TRANSPORT.
The Horse Transport attached to the Brigade will report at Q.M.
Stores at 08.00 hours 3rd inst., and will at once proceed to carry
down three days’ rations and load same into 3-Ton Lorries
for transport to AUBIN ST. VAAST Railway Station.
The Bde. S.M. will arrange for loading party at Q.M. Stores and
at foot of hill. Orders to proceed with the load will be given in
the morning.
On completion, Horse Transport will be utilized in carrying down
to the shed at foot of hill all heavy stuff, Officers’ kits
or other material which will be found difficult to carry. This will
be deposited in the shed until the time comes for the loading of
the lorries. It will, therefore, be necessary that the men’s
pack and blankets, Officers’ kits, documents and material
not required for remainder of the day, is ready to load on to this
Horse Transport at 11.00 hours.
On completion of duty, Horse Transport will be returned to C.A.S.C.
BEAURAINVILLE, which will be done on orders from the Adjutant, not
later than 13.00 hours.
8.
CHANGE OF PLANS.
In case it should be found practiceable to entrain at BEAURAINVILLE,
instead of AUBIN ST. VAAST, all the above orders will hold good,
except that the order for sending material down to the train may
be a little later than above stated. Notice of such change will
be given in good time.
