On
Saturday October 30th 2010 we held our first annual
Halloween bash in Cavron St Martin.
The
event boosted our fundraising to help Madagascan orphans to enjoy
a much needed holiday in 2011, our total now stands at 310€.
We
were astounded by the number of people who wished to attend the
event. But sadly, as it was in a private house, we had to limit
the number to 33. Those who did attend were treated to a superb
evening of karaoke and a BBQ style meal. Prizes were given to
the best dressed children (all of them in fact) and adults. With
so many French people in attendance we weren't sure that the karaoke
would be popular, especially as we didn't have any songs with
French lyrics. However, just as many French people took to the
microphone as English speakers, the highlight being a group of
6 singing 'Hey Jude' coached with the pronunciation at times by
our Sandra!
Our
thanks must go to those who gave to the cause, and to those who
donated even though they were unable to attend. Thanks also to
Bob who helped with the karaoke.
The
only downside of the event was that it wasn't until very late
in the evening that we remembered to take any photos. If anyone
else took any please do forward them to us for inclusion.
